Winter (Break) is Coming!

Our students have now completed their mid-year diagnostics in reading and math, and the results are in...the Dolphins are on the move! Teachers will continue to focus on high-quality instruction in the coming weeks before break, ready to put the pedal to the metal in January for the final five months of the school year. As our teaching staff engage in data talks this week, they are discussing next steps for students who are in need of additional supports. If you are interested in knowing more about what supports are in place for your child, the first step is always to reach out to the teacher. While Fall Conferences have passed, they would love to hear from you! Thank you to all of you who play an active, everyday role in your child's education.

Submit an Absence Online

Exciting news! You can now document your student's absence online! There is a new "Submit and Absence" link on the Donahoe homepage that will take you to a Google Form. This Form allows you to document the reason for your child's absence from school, and can save you a step in remembering to send in notes.

*Note that a Doctor's Note is still required for a Medical Appointment listed as the reason for absence

Student Drop-Off Reminder

We have shared as a school on multiple occasions that students should not be dropped off on Graves Rd. at the curb. This includes parking your vehicle on Graves Rd. or Young Dr. and walking your student across the street. This is a major safety concern for you and your student. It also impacts traffic flow, making the drop-off process longer for all involved.

All students being dropped off should be brought through the student drop-off line in the parking lot. The line moves efficiently, and can move even faster if all families follow the established procedures. I appreciate your cooperation with these procedures moving forward.
